EMIT Imaging is seeking a flexible and enthusiastic Service Technician to join our growing team in a full-time, permanent position. EMIT Imaging is a leading manufacturer of Cryo-fluorescence Tomography (CFT) systems and CFT fee-for-service research for the global bioresearch market with sites in Baltimore, MD and Boston, MA. EMIT Imaging was founded in 2018 on the concept that 3D, high resolution and sensitivity fluorescence-based molecular imaging is invaluable and essential for therapeutic discovery and development. Responsibilities
- Approximately 25% of time spent traveling to customer sites, primarily within the Continental US
o Installation and training of new users
o Onsite repair
o Yearly preventative maintenance - When not traveling, based Maryland office
o Support in the production of CFT systems including light manufacturing, assembly of electromechanical systems, and testing
o Assistance running QC and calibration checks on completed CFT systems
o Creation of maintenance manuals and procedures for the repair of subassemblies
o Assistance with other office tasks
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 4-year degree from accredited engineering university in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Biomechanical Engineering
- 3 years of work experience in an engineering role
- Some familiarity with CAD software and inventory management systems
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Authorization to work within the US and ability to travel into and out of the country for work
Preferred Skills
- Demonstratable skills with solid modeling, especially SolidWorks
- Experience writing or creating QC documentation
- Experience working within an ISO 9000 shop
- Prior work servicing or supporting imaging tools
Physical Demands
This position may require the individual to engage in significant physical activity including, but not limited to, standing, kneeling, or crouching for extended periods of time, manipulation of hand and power tools, and lifting objects up to 50lbs in weight.
